Things To Remember During The Hussle and Bussle of Everyday Life

1) Everybody has places to be, everybody has things to do. Not just you, don't tut at the poor lady who is confused at the train station and quite frankly in the way during rush hour. She could be confused where her platform is and the train is due to leave in 2 minutes, don't make it worse by making it obvious how frustrating she is being.

2) The people selling the big issue are just as cold and wet as you, but they have to stand in the rain all day whereas you have somewhere to go, don't walk straight past them avoiding eye contact - offer a smile, you'll never know how much they appreciate not being ignored.

3) You do actually need to eat, sometimes I completely forget that without food my body and brain won't function as well. Just because you've got a gergillian things to do doesn't mean you should neglect a break, some fresh air and an energy boost.

4) Someone, somewhere has it worse than you. This morning all trains in our area were severely delayed - I couldn't get in to Uni, so I'd got up for nothing. Mid-rant my Dad stopped me, "Jodie, all you had to do was go to Uni, someone had to go to an important job - they missed out on getting paid." Which then made me think, what about those going on holiday, those who might have missed their flights? Those visiting relatives, those with hospital appointments? All I did was miss one day at Uni and get out of bed at 6am for nothing. Someone, somewhere had it worse than me. Always think twice before moaning.

5) Real friends don't need to text all day, everyday. Since me and my friends have become progressively busier in our lives we can't possibly speak as much as we used to. But that's ok. If your friends are real they'll understand, and it makes it so much easier and better when you do eventually speak/see them.

6) On this note, don't neglect people. Don't ignore and neglect the people you care about just because 'life' is getting in the way. Make time for those you care about, and those who care about you.

7) Hard work is everything. No matter how hard it seems, how stressed you are becoming or how much you feel you want to quit. Things are not just handed to you, life is competitive and hard work will get you the places you want to be. Always try your best even when you feel like giving up.
