Best dressed at the NTA's

Sorry for the lack of posts this week! I had coursework deadlines last week and I worked all weekend, and therefore my list of 'things to do' saw 'blondiei' at the bottom!

An 'update' post is on it's way, as I feel I have lots and lots to share with you all. Numerous exciting things have been happening recently!

However, to keep my blog alive, and you readers reading, here is a quick blog post on my opinion on the 'best dressed' of the recent NTA's.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The National Television Awards took place last week, and I can definitely say I was not disappointed.  Below are some of the FANTASTIC dresses the stars wore. How they do it is beyond me, every year a handful get it just right! Michelle Keegan, once again, 10/10. She is perfecto.

Red can be risky! However this risk paid of! Abbey looked absolutely stunning and this tight-figured dress complimented her curves immensely. The slit in the leg added excitement to the dress, and the turtle neck ensured she stayed on trend. Beautiful! Definitely my best dressed of the night! I love this dress, but I couldn't wear it as well as she did!

Ted Baker Lipstick Crayon's

Ted Baker Lipstick Crayons!
My new obsession

For Christmas my Mom and Dad bought me a huge Ted Baker make up set. In there was; the two lipsticks, eye-shadow's, eye primer, eye-liner, bronzer, eyelashes and nail varnish's.

I have not put these two lipstick's down, literally.

Therefore I thought it would be quite appropriate to share my love for them with you all.

This pink one is perfect if your going for the sweet, girly look. With everyday makeup and a girly style, it makes your lips blend in to the overall look and makes you feel lots more confident. I also wear this one on a daily basis as it lasts all day, it really makes your lips stand out, and brightens up your whole overall make up look.

The dark purple one is also absolutely beautiful! I wear this one more on nights out than in the day, as it it goes perfectly with smokey eyes and little black dresses! If you're not one for wearing lipstick on a night out, I dare you to try this colour, it will change your opinion for sure!

The Liebster Award

I am extremely excited about this blog post! I have being nominated by the lovely Emilija for the Liebster Award. Thank-you Emilija! :) This is extremely exciting for me, as I have been blogging for a few months now but only recently joined 'bloglovin' and began to find other blog's and other people who enjoy blogging as much as I do! :)

1. If you won $50 million in the lottery what would you do with it?
I'd definitely give some to charity, probably cancer research. I'd treat my family to a holiday, an amazing holiday. I am 18 this year which means last year was my last holiday with my family (probably) as this year my sister is going away with school during the summer, I am going with my boyfriend on holiday, so my mom & dad are going on their own. I would love for the 4 of us to go on holiday somewhere incredible one last time! I would also save some (sensible option) for the future... you never know what might happen!

2. If you had to work for a fashion house which would it be?
It would have to be Chanel - how amazing would that be?

3. Who are your inspirations?
Other bloggers, mainly Zoella & Tanya Burr - who are the reason I decided to make a blog. I also inspire to be like my mom, she is so kind, forgiving, loving and caring to everyone she comes across and she is extremely happy all the time!

4. Favourite memory from 2013?
Wow! What a difficult question! 2013 was literally the most amazing year for me. I had so, so many high points and very little low points. My favourite memory? The whole of the summer was incredible.. I passed my driving test! That was amazing for me, I passed it the first week of the summer, so all summer I could go anywhere - do anything. I went to Wales with my boyfriend, that was fun. I went to Zante with my family, that was really fun and extremely hot. Hmm.... Me and My boyfriend spent our 1 year anniversary together in December, we went out to a Steak House near us, which is really expensive, but as it was a special occasion we saved up and treated ourselves, we had a 3 course meal. That was lovely! Getting closer to my boyfriend as well  over 2013, the first few months in the relationship where you're falling in love (which for me was the first time) that was incredible.

5. What's your favourite food?
I love roast dinners, my mom & my nan both make incredible roast dinners, and since being a child I have always looked forward to Sunday's purely for my roast! Haha! I also love pasta, quick and easy yet so tasty.

6. Celebrity crush?
Harry Styles - typical 17 year old girl for you.

7. Biggest fear?
Losing a loved one

8. Favourite perfume?
Tommy Hilfliger - Tommy Girl

9. Describe yourself in 4 words.
Determined, Loyal, Caring, Fun.

10. List any books that changed your life.
Although I do read, I don't read often.. I can't think of a book that's changed my life! Sorry!

11. List 5 blogs you're reading at the moment.
The Undercover Princess
Ellieeveleigh
Goldilocks Notebook
The Londoner
Tanya Burr

Happiness

I couldn't agree more with this! As human beings, I believe we like to complicate things, we like to find negatives, as opposed to positives.

My life: Recently over the past few months, I have had such a better outlook on life. I am so happy and content with how my life is right now. I have a wonderful family, amazing friends and the most incredible boyfriend. I work 3 shifts a week max which gives me enough time to do all my school work, see my boyfriend, and blog often, as well as earning money still. I feel as though everything is in its place and everything is finally going right.

My advice: If you feel like something's not right or somethings jeopardizing your happiness, think are you over complicating it? Over-thinking it maybe? Maybe solving the problem is a lot, lot easier than you think! Maybe there isn't even a problem. Maybe your holding on to something that no longer matters? Has someone upset you in the past, is it still relevant? Are you putting a lot of time or effort into something that isn't serving a purpose, or isn't making you a better person?

If someone or something makes you happy; have it, do it, keep it.

Happiness is key.

Do we need our phones 24/7?

Ok, I do own a phone (obviously - a 17 year old girl in this day and age without an iPhone is strange, let alone a 17 year old in this day and age without a phone full stop) and I admit, I carry it everywhere. To school, to the gym, to work, to my boyfriends, even to the toilet.

Why?

It's not just a phone anymore. Its a tiny little computer, tablet whatever you want to call it - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Blogger etc are all in your pocket - accessible at any moment (with WiFi or mobile network of course). Not to mention, texts, calls, whatsapp etc. This poses the question, why would we be without our phones?

What are the benefits of always having our phones with us?

  • Never miss a thing, your friends are a phone call or text away, gossip is a tweet away.
  • You can remember important moments by instagramming a photograph of it.
  • If you feel you are in an awkward situation, you can pretend to be on the phone, or update yourselves on what everyone you know is up to via friendstream.
  • If there is an emergency you can call someone instantly (signal permitting)
  • You can find information instantly via google or another search engine.

Implications of always having our phones with us?

  • We become reliant on them, become lazy, instead of thinking what something means we google it, instead of working out an equation, we use the calculator.
  • Our friends lives become in synced with ours, we care more about what their up to than what we should be doing. Honestly, do you care that your friend is having pasta for dinner?..
  • Memories aren't memories anymore, their pictures - which I suppose means we can remember them more, but does it also mean that we hinder the memory, and how good it could be, because instead we wished to take a picture?
  • Some people today do not know how to act in conversations or in social events because they are so reliant on communicating through their phones.
  • Instead of exercising our brains, we exercise our fingers. 'Googling' the answer to a question instead of answering it ourselves.
  • We do not appreciate the time we have with our loved ones, as we spend the time on our phones.
This video below was the inspiration for this blogpost, which I came across scrolling through Facebook.

It's definitely made me think about how often I use my phone and whether I really need to.

Toning up in 2014

I know many people say 'this is my year', 'new year. new me' etc etc and some mean their personality, some their bodies, some their work ethic.

I have never being 'fat' or 'big'. But as a typical girl I have always being insecure about my body, I am a size 10 or 12 and I KNOW THIS IS NOT FAT, I do know that. And i'm not saying that if you are this size you should or need to lose weight, because you don't at all. And it's not about losing weight for me as such. It's about toning, it's about being that little bit more healthy, to make myself feel good and become more confident in myself.

We have approx 6 months until the summer! The summer where we will all be in shorts, crop tops, bikini's and it will be too hot to hide behind our clothes! I'm determined to tone up in order to feel more confident this summer, to not have to worry about wether i'll look ok in my shorts or bikini.

Before Christmas, around the end of November, I joined the Gym. Throughout December I was really good, I went to the gym around 3 times a week (sometimes less, sometimes more) and then over the Christmas period, I let myself go.

Monday(tomorrow) I am going to get back into it. Below are pictures @BeFitMotivation and @Fitspirational  who I follow on twitter and post (regularly) pictures of 'before & after' and diet plans, workout plans etc. Really worth giving a follow if you have lost your motivation!

Holiday Planning!

Happy New Year, first and foremost. Wishing you all a wonderful, happy, healthy 2014.

So since the new year has begun, me and boyfriend have already got our sights set on summer 2014! Where we will be leaving sixth form and entering the big wide world, and the 'real world' as many people like to call it. Scary, nerve-racking and exciting all at the same time. Anyway, this talk is for another time as I still have about 6 months left of education, unless I go to university, of course. So, awaiting me is lots of hard work, exams, stress etc etc. But to keep me going through all of that is the thought of summer and all the shenanigans we will be getting up to, including V fest (hopefully), possibly going away with the girls - which at the moment looks unlikely, going away with Brad - which is looking very, very likely. Lots of nights out, as everybody in our girl group will be 18, BBQ's,  days at the beach, beer gardens, all very exciting.

Bradley and I have been looking at holiday's for a couple of months and yesterday we found (what seems to be) the most perfect holiday - Lanzarote, all inclusive and right in our budget. The hotel has a beautiful pool, it's right on the beach, there is more than one restaurant and food/drink all day as part of the all inclusive package. Last night I spent about 1 hour looking through all of the trip advisor's for the hotel, 90% of which are extremely good and persuading. I am so excited! As much as I love my friends and family, going away with my boyfriend is so so exciting, not only for the reason that we will be on our own and can do whatever we like, but Bradley and I get on so well, we have so much fun together, we literally spend all of our time laughing, and as well as being a couple we are also best friends (cliché i know). So, going away together is just the most exciting thing. I'm beginning to sound really queer and loved up so i'll stop.

I would absolutely love to go on holiday with my girls, the only problem is everybody wants different things. There is about 10 of us, just less going on the holiday. Like with all girl groups there are some shy girls, some opinionated - so coming to a group decision proves difficult. Firstly, we looked at Zante as we know many others who went their last year, and loved it and it is popular this year too (according to the travel agents, and we know other people our age going). But, not only did we begin 'arguing' about the destination, some wanted Zante, others wanted to look into other places, we found that the the time we would go had to be negotiated, as some are going away with families, boyfriends, some have work that they need to consider, and lots of other things that come into it. The time frame we found which we could all do, happens to be smack bang in the middle of the holiday, and therefore the most expensive time. Going on holiday with my friends would be so, so fun and if it gets sorted I will definitely go (if the price is in reason), but I would rather not be at the front running of the organising (even though they all want me to as I am quite a good organiser) because every time we talk about it, arguments begin, and I don't want to strain our friendships because of it.

So, while its raining and miserable January here in the UK, I do have lots to look forward to, to plan, to think about. Even though my mind should be on my school work, my exams, my future!! Argh sttttreeesssss!
