DECEMBER

A few pictures to show what I got up to in December, when I neglected my little world on the internet!

Birmingham's German Market!

Bowling for Barnardo's
At sixth form we dressed up and went bowling all in aid to raise money for the good work they do at the charity Barnardo's - (www.barnardos.org.uk)

My friend's and I dressed as Avatars! Which was so so fun!

                                                           Work's Christmas Party!

Pantomime and Chinese with the work girlies!
This year the panto was Sleeping Beauty and it was absolutely FAAABBBULOUS! Very, very funny and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't already seen it.

IT'S CHRISTMAS!

Today marks the last Christmas I will experience as a 'child'. Next Christmas I will be 18 years old, meaning my first Christmas as an 'adult'. Therefore my mom has decided to tell all distant relatives who send £10 notes (which soon add up) to stop. This is sad, and I feel it marks the end of an era. Although today has been an extremely good end to that era, I have being very spoilt. My parents have got me an apple macbook air (which I am using right now). It's absolutely fab! I love it already! My boyfriend got me a pandora bracelet - a silver one as I already have a purple leather one. He also got me a purse, which is lovely, and a huge Ted Baker gift set. I've also had lots of little presents which I am extremely grateful for like knee-high boots, jewellery etcetera.

Hope all of you bloggers have had wonderful Christmas's. I do apologise for the lack of blog posts this month, I promise to be back on track in the new year. Especially now I have this new snazzy macbook.

Things i've learnt in my year as a waitress!

Thought id enlighten you all into my life a little bit, I have been working part time (alongside sixth form) as a waitress for about a year and 3 months. In this time I have come accross some essential information you just must know to do this job.

1) The boss is always right.
2) The chefs are always right.
3) The customer is always right.
4) You are never right.

10 Things To Do Before Christmas!!

Its only mid-November, but Christmas will come and go before we know it!
What I plan to WILL DO before the big day!
  1. Visit the German Market and eat something German associated whilst there! Pretzel anyone?
  2. Buy an outfit for Christmas Day! Something practical as I am working Christmas Day lunch :(
  3. Buy an outfit for New Years Eve! This however, does not need to be 'practical'.
  4. Sort out Secret Santa with the girls! ***Money saving technique****
  5. Buy my family and boyfriend presents, money money money.
  6. Send of my UCAS!
  7. Complete all school work for a stress-free(ish) Christmas!
  8. Have a movie night watching Christmas Films and snuggling up with lots of blankets and hot chocolate/mince pies. The Grinch and Miracle on 34th Street are definitely on the line-up.
  9. Make gingerbread men or mince pies (without burning or giving someone food poisoning)
  10. Make a snowman and snowangels, will however need Snow to complete this one! Please Lord!

It All Feels Right

I am in such a good place right now. I am absolutely loving life! I'm not sure wether its the season and were nearing towards Christmas, its colder, and cosier and I can drink tea all day and snuggle up to my boyfriend without feeling guilty because well its nearly Christmas!

I don't know what it is about this time of year but everyone seems to be happier, then again I say that in the summer. Pathetic fallacy comes to mind, maybe the sun brings out the brightness of our personalities. But then, how can we make sense of the Winter? Maybe its the lights - the Christmas lights, the fire, the music. Even though I realise it is November, I'm still beginning to feel it. I'm planning Christmas presents, and what I'm going to do over Christmas. Its all SO exciting!

I am so busy at the moment as well! Which is great as there is never a dull moment! I have recently signed up to the leisure centre, meaning i have free access to the gym, the swimming pool and all the classes. I am very motivated to make use of it, next week I've booked onto spinning and TRX! Am I mad? I think I might be.

I've been with my boyfriend for almost a year now, a year on the 29th December to be precise. Very romantic time - I know. I have booked that weekend of work so hopefully we can spend all weekend together, and be all cosy and cute as it will be freezing outside, and it could be snowing! But I doubt it. As here in England, it will probably be sunny over Christmas and then snow in August. Haha! Crazy weather! What are you doing mother nature?!

I've had a wobbly time recently, up and down - not for any particular reason, just one of those times i think. Friendship problems etcetera. But it all seems to be looking up now! As cliche as it sounds, if your going through a hard time, keep going. It will get better. Life has a funny way of treating us, but you've just got to go with it, it will all make sense soon enough. Wow deep for a Wednesday morning!

What's in?

As a 17 year old girl, I would consider myself quite 'in' with the fashion and trends. After a day of shopping at the Bullring in Birmingham I thought i'd do a quick blog post on my finds and what appears to be in right now.

1) Right. So the first 'trend' dominating the shops is black and white clothing; b&w stripes, squares, random patters, on tops, on leggings, on coats aswell!

Here is a picture of the b&w trend on the catwalks earlier this year.

Here is the top I purchased today:

It is from Republic and it cost me £12. I love this top as it is very versitile. It could be dressed up - by wearing it with a leather skirt and some black heels - or dressed down, with jeans, boots and a leather jacket.

Here are the leggings I purchased today:

These leggins are from H&M and cost me £7.99, which is a complete bargain, as I wear leggings day in day out, so for me leggings are essential for the wardrobe. I'd pair these leggings with a bright jumper, some converse and a coat in the winter months.

2) The second trend i've noticed in the shops is something known as a 'wrap' skirt.

Examples of wrap skirts in the high street stores:

TOPSHOP!

Silk Wrap Skirt By Boutique

The wrap skirt I brought today was from Firetrap.

This skirt was £25:00 and i've fallen in love with it. This is a piece you can dress down, with black tights, black boots, a plain top and a cardigan. However you can also dress it up, on the USC website (http://www.usc.co.uk/rock-and-rags-by-firetrap-baroque-top-657255) there is the matching top for the skirt, which creates a 'Two-piece' another popular current trend. By wearing the skirt and matching top you have an evening outfit, which you could pair with some heels  and a clutch bag! Perfecto.

3) The third trend which is absolutely everywhere right now is Tartan! If you didn't already know this, what planet are you on?! The shops are filled with tartan, I absolutely love this trend. I have already bought a dress onnline in tartan pattern from dollybowbow.

The dress looks like this:

It is £28:00 and i think its beautiful! I'd pair with black tights, black boots and a long coat.

And the second item I have bought in Tartan is a scarf:

The scarf was £14.00, it is not typically red patterened but instead it has a twist and is a more orangey colour. I love it! As it is a scarf i will obviously be wearing it on colder days, the bright orange will add colour to my outfit.

HALLOWEEN!

I love halloween!

I have just got back from Brownies (I am not a brownie, obviously - as I am not 9 years old). I am a young leader! Tonight was our halloween party, all the girls came dressed up, and I mean really dressed up - broomsticks, pointy hats, scary make-up - the lot. It makes me so excited and so jealous of them, I want to be young again and dress up for halloween and not care.

We have our halloween social on Friday for sixth form, which everyone is moaning about as apparently not many people are going, and those that are aren't dressing up. So that sucks!

Me and my friends are also planning on pumpkin carving one day during half term, which is mega exciting as I've never done it! I can't decide wether to be traditional and do a smiley face, or do something out the ordinary and attempt to be 'creative'. Watch this space! I will keep you informed on that.

My sister is having her friends round to watch Paranormal Activity 4. So me and my boyf will probably crash and watch it too. Which will be so funny as he hates scary films and I love them.

Besides all that I'm not sure what else is going on in my life regarding Halloween!

But its bonfire night soon which makes me even more excited as I love that too!

All of this is so exciting, I love this time of year and the build up to Christmas! It's so warm and cosy and lovely and everythings calm and everyones happy! It's absolutely fandabbydosey.
